Luke 1:67-75
67 Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: 68 “Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people, 69 And has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David, 70 As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began, 71 That we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us, 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant, 73 The oath which He swore to our father Abraham: 74 To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
This song of praise by Zacharias helps us to understand the great salvation of God. We can learn from it that Zacharias speaks for God by the Spirit and apparently the Spirit comes for the purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ. Thanks be to the Lord! He loves us so much that He lays down His precious life to save us. Thanks be to God! He has raised up "a horn of salvation" for us, -- our almighty savior Jesus Christ. Blessed be Him for evermore! Hallelujah!
Thanks be to God! He is faithful, as He remembers and fulfills His promises for His children. Not only does the salvation save us from the hands of our enemies, but also delivers us from the rule of the devil. So we can stand in front of God and serves Him boldly with holiness and righteousness all the days of our life, just as in Paul's exhortation which says "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1). In the month of thanksgiving, let's renew our offering to God with our family, being willing to be used by God in any way, shall we!?
